A Time Capsule of Flavor at New China Tea - A Chicago Gem! New China Tea has been a staple in my life for years, and each visit feels like stepping into a time capsule of cherished memories. This local Chicago Chinese restaurant has been a constant source of comfort, whether it's for takeout, delivery, or enjoying a cozy meal in their welcoming establishment. The vibe of New China Tea is a delightful blend of nostalgia and authenticity. The interior exudes a timeless charm, with hints of classic Chinese decor that transport you to a place where the essence of the restaurant's history is palpable. It's more than just a dining spot; it's a comforting space that has witnessed countless meals shared and memories created. Having explored the menu extensively over the years, I can confidently say that New China Tea has mastered the art of Chinese cuisine. From the vast array of options, a few dishes have become my all-time favorites. The General Tso's Chicken is a standout, perfectly balancing crispy, succulent chicken with a sweet and tangy sauce that leaves a lasting impression. The Beef Lo Mein is a comforting noodle dish with a rich medley of flavors and textures, showcasing the freshness of the ingredients. And let's not forget the Beef Fried Rice, an absolute classic done to perfection. The fragrant rice, tender beef, and assorted vegetables come together harmoniously, creating a dish that satisfies every craving. Consistency is key at New China Tea; each dish is a testament to the dedication of the chefs to deliver an authentic and memorable dining experience. The portions are generous, the flavors are bold, and the quality is unwavering. The staff, with their warm smiles and efficient service, add to the overall positive atmosphere. Whether you're a long-time patron or a first-time visitor, the hospitality at New China Tea makes you feel like part of their extended family. we were the only table dining inside. The waitress was awfully rude rushing us to make our selection after telling her twice we needed time. When the food came and she took away the sweet and sour bottle. Asked her twice to bring it back she ignored us. I had to get up and ask the owner for the bottle and then she finally brought it back with an attitude without apologizing. I tried asking her her for more tea she ignored us the entire time after that and would bring water which we didn’t want. I tried ordering another selection of drinks and she didn’t care. She kept rushing to bring the tab which I wasn’t done eating which was beyond rude. She gave me an attitude asking me if I was done several times when my husband was in the bathroom felt supper uncomfortable. He obviously was a gentleman picking up our tab but she was not patient. I had enough of the disrespect and choose to take the tab in front and pay the tab. When I walked back to the table she asked “NO SERVICE TIP?” “WHERE IS MY TIP” it was so unfortunate. After the way she served us and gave us an attitude and was inattentive she HAD THE AUDACITY TO ASK FOR A TIP. I told her she’s rude and doesn’t deserve it. When I called and told the owner he disregarded her behavior and said she’s acting like this because at night men have stollen their sweet and sour bottles and utensils. What does theft in your store have to do with our service and how we are treated. Never coming back here again. You never ask a customer for a tip especially when your customer service skills are very unprofessional.

I usually order out but this time we dine in with a couple of friends. I love the food here the best Chinese food style in the area, I love their tea! I give it a 3 on the service because the waitress was such in a rush the whole time in serving us, she had barely giving us the menu when she was already asking what was our order. Other than that the food is great here.
